Class level: Intermediate
Class duration: Part 1: 90 mins, Part 2: 75 mins
this is a live recording of a class at the practice room in the last week of August, 2019.
Classes in the last week of the month are usually quiet and restorative. This class was recorded in the last week of an unusually chilly and wet August. Therefore, we decided to include some standing work and unsupported inversions.
This class came after a few sessions that focussed on establishing the connection between the side-body, and the shoulders and arms. Both Part 1 and Part 2 of this two-part series continue with this theme.
Although this sequence does not include any complex asana positions, it does have a few long holds, and assumes understanding of some finer details. We have, therefore, classified it as an ‘Intermediate Level’ class, appropriate for those with a regular practice of asana in the Iyengar tradition for at least three years.
This recording comes with images of those asanas/ actions where we felt that the audio instructions might not be clear enough. These images are inserted in the video file. If you are accessing the audio recording, you may access the images here. The images are only for a quick visual reference, they are not exhaustive, and are not sufficient for learning these asanas. We recommend following along with the audio recording, and looking at the reference images only in case an instruction is not clear.
