In the practice or Pranayama, the abdomen is regarded as a more important locus than the lungs/ chest area. However, the play of breath in the abdominal area should be learnt at least to an extent, in the arena of Asanas, before taking up Pranayama. This is the focus of this session that uses simple Asanas and supported seated and supine positions to turn the student’s attention to the breath in the abdominal area.
