Backbends are invigorating and strengthening. Backbends result in the following:
• Strengthens the back muscles
• Alleviates back pain
• Stretches the hip flexors
• Improves posture
• Increases circulation
• Boosts mood
• Opens up the shoulders and chest
• Improves breathing
Backbends must be approached with caution as they can cause damage to the neck and the lower back.
In this session we prepare the body and also practice simple backbends.
